You are not God's puppet

The Spotless Agenda: 009

You are not God's puppet

Many Christians say things that they don't mean. Others say things out of misunderstanding. Meanwhile, Scripture teaches us to speak in agreement with God.

When a Christian commits, and regrets committing, a sinful act, he or she would say, "Lord, why didn't you prevent me?" When he or she begins to experience the bitter side of relationship, they would say, "Lord, why did you watch me enter this relationship?" And when he or she feels disappointed in someone they trusted so much, they would say, "Lord, why didn't you give me more details about this person?"

All of these questions indicate misunderstanding of one's relationship to God.

God is your real spiritual Father. He gave birth to you by his Spirit. He did not design you as a puppet. A puppet has no mind, will or emotion. It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't reason. A puppet is totally programmed and remote-controlled. A puppet cannot make a decision on its own, being not able to choose.

However, you are a spiritual being capable of thinking, choosing and making informed decisions.

So the Father doesn't force his will on you. Rather, he guides you to choose wisely. This is the reason why he doesn't want you to do things your own way. Your own way may seem right in your own eyes, but it may be wrong.

Those who humbly follow the leading of the Spirit make the right choices, and even if things don't go the way they expected, all the same, they are happy because they obeyed God.

Following the leading of the Holy Spirit does not guarantee a successful outcome always, however, it guarantees happiness and glory in the end.

  1. The Spotless Agenda is a move towards a spotless church. Study, reason and question (srq) Scripture in order to find evidence of the truth. Remember, this is achievable only through the Holy Spirit.
