CHRIST-IN-YOU VERITIES

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10 NIV).  Before you were born again, God, your heavenly Father, had prepared good works in advance for you to do them on earth. To be able to walk in the good works that were prepared in advance for you, he recreated you in Christ Jesus and put his glory inside you. You must put the glory out for all to see and give praise to the Father. This is what the Christ-In-You Verities are about. They teach, guide, inspire, encourage and motivate you to put the glory out for all to see and give praise to the Father. What does the term Christ-In-You Verities mean? The term Christ-In-You Verities refers the system of doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God. They explain to you what glory is, who glory is, where glory is, and how glory is, so that you will be able to understand and demonstrate a glorious life on earth, that is, to be able to pu...

WHERE THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL MOVEMENT GOT IT ALL WRONG

SAGE BROADCAST WHERE THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL MOVEMENT GOT IT ALL WRONG ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty (Haggai 2:8 NIV).  What is the prosperity gospel movement?  This is a movement within charismatism particularly, the proponents of whom equate Christian faith with material, and particularly, financial success.  Prosperity gospel preachers, often erroneously equated with word of faith preachers, believe that financial blessings and material well-being are always the will of God for them, and that faith, positive confession and donations to spiritual causes will increase one's material well-being. Prosperity gospel movement is an offshoot of word of faith movement. Even though both have faith as their basic tenet, the two are not the same. Prosperity gospel preachers are often materialistic as they believe that their financial success and material wealth are what account for their divine blessings.  Rev. Kenneth Hagin, who is held ...

Was Jesus really poor?

SAGE BROADCAST Was Jesus really poor? For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9 NIV). Does this Scripture create a picture of Jesus as a poor, beggarly preacher? Some do say that Jesus became literally poor [by 'poor' they mean impoverished] so that through his poverty the Christian might become literally rich [by 'rich' they mean wealthy]. The question is, Was Jesus really impoverished? Let's put a magnifying glass on the Scriptures to investigate and to discover the intricate realities of the word. Come along with me! Etymology The etymology of biblical words is so important as it helps to unravel the true meanings of words whose meanings have changed over time. Etymology is the study of root words.  In the key text above, Paul uses the word "plousios" to describe the state of Jesus before his incarnation. It is an adject...

Soul biz: Is your church a soul business too?

Sage Broadcast Soul biz: Is your church a soul business too? “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people” (Matthew 4:19 NIV). Soul biz simply means soul business. By "soul business" I mean to say the operation of a profiteering organisation using one's spiritual gifts and divine power to win lost souls to Christ. This is different from soul winning. The goal of soul winning is to win the lost to Christ, train them for Christ and send them out to win others to Christ. Soul winning and discipleship are inseparable.  Whereas some are called by God and given divine power to win lost souls to Christ, to nurture them spiritually and physically, and to make them relevant to God and society, others purchase "spiritual power" to win lost souls to Christ and make money out of them. When soul winning is motivated by gain, it tends to be soul business. Soul biz is not a new thing in our day. Remember Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8? He offered Ap...

The modest life of Jesus vs the lavish life of Solomon: your preference

Sage Broadcast The modest life of Jesus vs the lavish life of Solomon: your preference Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these (Matthew 6:29 NIV). Typical of the Jewish leaders, was, a lavish lifestyle. To them, having plenty substances was an indication of the blessings of the Lord. Plenty cattle, plenty sheep, plenty oxen; plenty food crops; vast plots of land, stupendous buildings; plenty wives, plenty children, large family size; these things meant a great deal to the Jews as they were to them a sign of divine blessings.  Let's take a look at how Bible reveals the lavish lifestyle of the Jewish leaders. Abraham So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him. Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold (Genesis 13:1‭-‬2 NIV). Isaac Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him (Genesis 26:12 NIV). Jacob...
