(Colossians 1:27 TPT) Typically, the greatness of a kingdom depends on its treasury. Some kingdoms are rich in minerals, others in oil reserves, still others in cash crops and durable trees.   A king or a queen usually kept treasure in a chest. Likewise, pirates stored their treasure in a chest. This was known as treasure chest. A treasure chest is a chest that held the royal treasury, or a chest that is filled with treasure. A treasure chest also means a source of something that is valuable or beautiful.  Christ is here revealed as a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for God's people. "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." (Romans 5:3‭-‬4 NIV) I have discovered that many emerging leaders are not able to persist in their goals when they encounter roadblocks, hurdles or debilitating factors in the way. They are often discouraged by the impediments.   Success is about achieving, fulfilling or satisfying a goal. It is about challenging the status quo. It is about introducing positive change in the prevailing circumstance. And this is made possible by character.  The key verse above reveals that it is character that drives hope. What glorious outcome do you anticipate?
