CHRIST IN YOU: A HEAVENLY TREASURE CHEST OF HOPE

 "Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!" (Colossians 1:27 TPT)

Typically, the greatness of a kingdom depends on its treasury. Some kingdoms are rich in minerals, others in oil reserves, still others in cash crops and durable trees.  

A king or a queen usually kept treasure in a chest. Likewise, pirates stored their treasure in a chest. This was known as treasure chest. A treasure chest is a chest that held the royal treasury, or a chest that is filled with treasure. A treasure chest also means a source of something that is valuable or beautiful. 

Christ is here revealed as a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for God's people. Do you recall that Jesus told his disciples, "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you"(Joh 14:18 NIV)? The word "to" is from the Greek "pros" which means to the advantage of. When Jesus said this, he was referring to the Holy Spirit who would come to dwell in the believer to his (her) advantage. 

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ. He causes the fulness of Christ to overflow within you. He is also the Spirit of glory. Through him you are completely filled with God as Christ's fulness overflows within you. 

Christ is the embodiment of the Holy Spirit with all the riches of his glory. If Christ is in you, then you are filled with the riches of glory. 

Christ is heaven's treasure chest let down into the Christian. This heavenly treasure chest is filled with the riches of glory for God's people, in other words, riches of glory that you cannot completely consume all alone, but are meant to be shared with others.

The spiritual background of Colossians 1:27 is that the Christian is recreated rich with glorious and celebratory treasure. All the treasure that the Father has deposited in you sum up in one word: glory! This glory is like a package of spiritual blessings that are intended to make you complete and entire, wanting nothing. You can never be in want of any good thing after receiving this package. This package is called Christ. 

Christ is a heavenly treasure chest in you that floods you with expectations of glory. If Christ is in you, then you can always expect your life to go from one brighter level of glory to another. This is because, he guarantees that every action you take out of faith will end in glory.   

Christ is a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for God's people. When God's people encounter you, they must have assurance that their lives will move from glory to glory if they persistently trust him. This is because, they see the riches of his glory overflowing within you like rivers of living water. 

Christ in you is not a cliché. It is the greatest verity of the New Testament. This mystery of Christ, embedded within you, aligns your life in perfect harmony with God's plan and your destiny. God's intent for putting his glory inside you is that you will shine forth his glory, in other words, put out his glory so that the world may see and give him praise. The glory is given to you, not only for your personal enjoyment, but also for the enjoyment of others. Your destiny is to let people see the glory of God. 

Christ-In-You Verities

Christ-In-You Verities are those verities that condition you to do the good works for which you were recreated in Christ to do. They are the truths that teach, guide, inspire, encourage and motivate you toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. They are the messages that equip you to transform lives and society by the Spirit through a total reformation of how they think. 

Christ-In-You Verities empower you to unveil your glory, for the whole creation earnestly waits for the manifestation of your glory as a child of God. 

Does faith make us comfortable in penury?  

If this mystery of Christ is embedded within you, you will never feel comfortable in penury. You may have been born into an impoverished family, but you are born again into God's royal family where the heavenly treasure chest inside you guarantees that if you persistently trust God, your life will ascend from glory to glory. Therefore, you must not wallow in penury. Get up! 

Christ is both the power of God and the wisdom of God—power for divine health and wisdom for divine wealth. So then, why should you wallow in misery all your life? Penury is not God's will for you. 

Christ-In-You Verities motivate you to rise and press into your academic excellence, financial dominance, marital happiness or fruitful home, if you are not seeing it at the moment. And where you are already enjoying a victorious life in Christ Jesus, they motivate you to ascend from one brighter level of glory to another. 

Christ-In-You Verities sum up in the following statement: Christ in you guarantees, that your life will move from glory to glory if you persistently trust him.
